Yvonne is the Executive Director of the Multicultural Health Brokers Co-op in Edmonton. The MCHB Co-op is a workers’ co-operative established to address health and social issues experienced by immigrant & refugee families. Yvonne has spent the past decade promoting a deeper understanding of the unique struggles & aspirations of immigrant & refugee families in Edmonton; formal recognition of the “Multicultural Health Brokering” practice as a strategy for addressing health & social inequities; and collaborative approaches to cultural relevant services, research, program design and policy development.
